Summary:
- Installed, managed & monitored Red Hat Enterprise Linux and Debian Servers, running on HP DL585, DL360, DL145 and DL385 servers.
- Successfully implemented Disaster Recovery process for Linux Servers and Corporate Infrastructure.
- Setup a Systems management and monitoring solution using various monitoring tools like HP Systems Insight Manager, RRDTools, Nagios, Cacti and SmokePing
- Designed, documented & implemented a kickstart process to automatically build production systems complete in all respect from scratch in the event of a disaster.
- Configured Cisco Firewalls and Foundry X448 Layer 3 switches, LoadMaster 1500 load balancer with layer 7 switching.
- Implemented a load-balanced pair of Tomcat servers integrated with Apache using mod_jk connector. Configuring was done using Heartbeat for Apache HA instances and Thread level load balancing using Tomcat’s internal load balancers.
- Ensured the implementation of HTTPS and SFTP/SCP based delivery mechanisms for security conscious clients thus enabling the company to approach new clients across Europe and America.
- Introduced the implementation of SMS notifications going out to users in case of critical events.
- Introduced proper Subversion based revision control for infrastructure scripts, configuration files and delivery mechanisms (usually perl scripts)
- Designed a software upgrade and security patching policy for Linux servers with proper testing of every software upgrade in Dev environments before its pushed live.
- Ensured the revival of TWiki as a documentation system for infrastructure resulting in all Linux and Networking systems and processes being documented.
